The Swiss Society for Anaesthesia and Resuscitation (SGAR), together with established accreditation organisations for outpatient anaesthesia, have issued the following guidelines:

YOUR INFRASTRUCTURE

• Sufficient space for the procedure: approximately 2 m², preferably at the patient’s head, on the foot side in dental practices
• A separate room with reclining option as recovery room for post-operative monitoring – not absolutely necessary if the patient is lying comfortably (dental treatment chair) and the treatment room is reserved for a correspondingly long time
• Easy access to the procedures room and the monitoring room for any transfer of a patient who is lying down
• Emergency power (e.g., batteries for devices): all our devices have rechargeable batteries
• Fire extinguisher

OUR TRANSPORTABLE ANAESTHESIA EQUIPMENT

We will generally bring a complete anaesthesia workstation which complies with the current SGAR guidelines. Among other things, this includes:

• Cardiopulmonary monitoring (ECG, SpO₂, RR, etCO₂, temp.)
• Ventilator, including circular section and mobile oxygen / AIR
• Suction unit
• Emergency equipment (defibrillator, medication, etc.)

It is important for us to continually review and adapt our services and procedures in the outpatient sector. In doing so, we take into account your individual requirements under the applicable SGAR (OBA = Office Based Anaesthesia) guidelines and our quality requirements.
